Foundry Sand Additives
The world famous sand additive that eliminates veining, penetration, pinholes, burn in and lustrous carbon casting defects. SphereOX® is the only spherical foundry sand additive developed and produced specifically for the foundry industry. It is a synthetic engineered sand additive, consistently more pure than other sand additives or natural oxides. When used as an additive in foundry cores/molds, SphereOX® significantly reduces surface defects and improves the quality of the castings. It has excellent flow properties and requires less resin to achieve the required mold core bond strength.
FineOX is an economical, high purity synthetic iron oxide product developed and produced by Chesapeake Specialty Products, Inc. for the foundry industry.
SphereOX No-Coat has specific thermal advantages to provide surface finish better than any other sand additives. Interestingly, castings made with SphereOX No-Coat can have better surface finish than castings made with core/mold coatings.
FineOX ® is a synthetic iron oxide of high purity and consistent sizing. It has been proven in refractory applications as well as other industrial applications such as coloring agents, exothermics, welding rods, drilling muds, and glass bottles.
Addition of FineOX® to doloma has been found to increase the hydration resistance.
FineOX ® is a synthetic iron oxide of high purity and consistent sizing used in the manufacture of carbon/graphite electrodes and refractory mortar and brick. A mixture of coke, or charcoal, and a small per cent iron oxide, can be converted to graphite by heating.
BottomPour ® is used in steel ingot mold casting, as weights for exercise equipment, industrial machinery, counter balance weights, and ship's ballast.
Chesapeake Specialty Products produces a high density material sold as HDM. HDM is a custom blend of steel and high density iron oxides specifically formulated to meet customer requirements. Our HDM (High Density Medium) can be purchased in particular size distribution of 4 mesh to 325 mesh and specific gravity ranges from 5.0 to 7.2g.

Alkaline soils make iron and other micronutrients unavailable to plants. Chlorosis is the yellowing of leaf tissue due to a lack of chlorophyll. Chlorosis in the younger leaves of a plant characterizes an iron deficiency. The tissue between the veins gradually turns yellow, while the veins tend to stay green. The tips and margins of some leaves may turn brown and become dry and brittle.

Iron deficiency is the most common deficiency seen in dogs and piglets, but occurs less commonly in horses, cats, and ruminants. Iron deficiency can be nutritional in origin, but most commonly occurs due to blood loss. Young animals have minimal iron stores, and milk contains very little iron. This can be especially important for piglets that grow rapidly and are often raised indoors with no access to iron. Oral iron supplementation is indicated as treatment for iron deficiency; any source of blood loss must be eliminated.PureOX® is an ideal source of iron for fertilizer, feed, dietary supplements, and colorants.
